Ben Stokes to Leave IPL Early for Ireland and Ashes Series

England’s star all-rounder, Ben Stokes, will leave the Indian Premier League (IPL) early to join the England squad for their upcoming test series against Ireland and the much-anticipated Ashes series against Australia. Stokes, who is currently playing for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), is expected to leave the IPL after their match April 29.

Stokes’ decision to leave the IPL early is a huge boost for England ahead of a busy summer of cricket. The all-rounder is one of the key players in the England squad and his presence will be crucial in both the test series against Ireland and the Ashes series against Australia.

CSK Will Miss Him

Stokes’ departure from the CSK will be a blow for the team. The player is in good form with bat and ball. His absence will leave a big void in the team’s line-up and they will have to find a way to cope without their star player.

Commitment to the England Team

Stokes’ early departure from the IPL also shows his commitment to the England team and his desire to play a key role in their success. The all-rounder has been one of the busiest cricketers in recent times, playing in multiple formats of the game and for various teams across the world. His decision to prioritize England’s international commitments over the IPL is a testament to his dedication and passion for the game.

Stokes, A Key Player of England

The upcoming test series against Ireland and the Ashes series against Australia are crucial for England, and Stokes’ presence in the team will be important. The all-rounder has a stellar record in test cricket, and currently ranked at no. 4 in ICC Men’s Test Player Rankings. His ability to turn the game on its head with both bat and ball makes him a key player in any conditions.

Players Workload

His departure also raises questions about the scheduling of the tournament. The IPL has often been criticized for its packed schedule, which leaves little room for players to rest and recover between matches. The fact that Stokes has to leave the tournament early to join the England squad highlights the issue of player workload and the need for a more balanced schedule.

International Cricket Holds the Highest Value

Stokes’ early departure from the IPL also shows the importance of test cricket and the need for players to prioritize international commitments over franchise cricket. While the IPL is undoubtedly one of the biggest and most lucrative tournaments in the world, it is still international cricket that holds the highest value and prestige.

Ashes, One of The Most Awaiting Cricket Series

The Ashes series is one of the most eagerly anticipated contests in world cricket and Stokes’ presence will be crucial for England’s chances. The all-rounder played a starring role in England’s last Ashes series and he is expected to reapeat the same.

The success of the league has also helped in the development of young cricketers in Pakistan, who have had the opportunity to learn from and play alongside some of the best T20 cricketers in the world. Dasun Shanaka’s Inclusion in PSL 8: A Significant Step in his T20 Career

Sri Lankan white-ball captain Dasun Shanaka has been making a name for himself in the T20 format of cricket over the last few months. He has participated in a number of T20 leagues, including the Lanka Premier League, the International League T20, and the Bangladesh Premier League, where he has not only played but also registered impact-generating knocks in T20Is, highlighting his growth as a T20 cricketer.

Shanaka, who is 31 years old, was the highest run-scorer for his team during both the limited-overs series in India last month. He scored 124 runs at an average and strike rate of 62 and 187.87, respectively, in a three-match T20I series, and a career-best 108* (88) in the first ODI in Guwahati. With such a consistent performance, there have been calls from experts and fans for Shanaka to bat up the order. This would allow him to provide more value and make a bigger impact in the game.

Shanaka has also been advised to bowl more frequently, given his success in the first half of his professional career. However, he has bowled only 82 overs across 71 white-ball matches at the highest level in the last two years.

Shanaka has never played a Pakistan Super League match in his career, much like the Indian Premier League. However, he was named as a replacement player for West Indies all-rounder Sherfane Rutherford by Peshawar Zalmi last week, and he made his debut for the team in PSL 8 Match 9 against Quetta Gladiators in Karachi.

It is likely that Shanaka may also make his IPL debut in the upcoming 16th season of the tournament as a replacement player. Although no one would want to see any player miss such an important tournament, history has shown that players do get ruled out or make themselves unavailable right before the start of the IPL season.

In conclusion, Shanaka’s consistent performance in the T20 format of cricket has been a testament to his growth as a T20 cricketer. He has made an impact in various T20 leagues and has received calls to bat up the order and bowl more frequently. His recent inclusion in the PSL 8 squad and potential IPL debut as a replacement player are a testament to his growing reputation in the T20 format of cricket.

Tea is Fantastic” Tweet by Lahore Qalandars: Harmless Joke or Further Strain on India-Pakistan Relations?

Lahore Qalandars, the reigning champions of the Pakistan Super League, has caused a stir on social media with a controversial tweet that is likely to further strain the already tense relations between the Indian cricket board and the PSL giants. The tweet, which takes a dig at Indian fighter jet pilot Abhinandan Varthaman, has sparked an uproar among both Indian and Pakistani cricket fans.

The tweet shows a photograph of all-rounder Mohammad Hussain Talat enjoying a cup of tea with the caption: “Ye tu “Tea is Fantastic” hogya” (“This is now ‘Tea is Fantastic'”). The tweet is a reference to a viral video that emerged in 2019 after Abhinandan Varthaman’s MiG-21 was shot down in Pakistan. The pilot was captured by Pakistani locals and later taken into custody by the Pakistani army. In a video released by Pakistani authorities, Abhinandan thanked the officials for their professional treatment and was asked if he liked the tea. He responded by saying, “The tea is fantastic, thank you.”

The phrase “tea is fantastic” has since become a popular meme in Pakistan, with many people using it to poke fun at India. Pakistani celebrities like Fakhar-e-Alam have even joined in on the fun, urging people to “sip on tea for free” instead of engaging in conflict. However, Lahore Qalandars’ latest tweet has taken the joke too far, and Indian cricket fans have responded by pointing out that it was only last year that Pakistan’s Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal was urging Pakistanis to drink less tea to help the economy.

The tweet has further escalated tensions between the Indian cricket board and Lahore Qalandars, as the PSL is currently streamed on Sony Live in India, and this tweet could affect their broadcast in the country as well. The incident highlights the delicate nature of cricket diplomacy in the region, where even a seemingly innocuous tweet can have serious consequences.

In recent years, cricket has been used as a means to improve relations between India and Pakistan, with both countries engaging in a number of bilateral series and participating in international tournaments together. However, political tensions between the two countries have often spilled over into the cricket field, with matches being cancelled or boycotted as a result.

While the Lahore Qalandars’ tweet may have been intended as a harmless joke, it serves as a reminder of the deep-rooted animosity that exists between India and Pakistan. It is essential for both countries to continue engaging in cricket diplomacy and promoting peace and friendship through the sport.

PCB Junior League Discontinues as New Chairman Takes Charge

PCB Management Committee is being led by Najam Sethi now as Ramiz Raja has stepped down. Along with the major structural change in domestic cricket, he has also made the decision to start the Pakistan Women’s League. Not only this, he has announced to end of the Pakistan Junior League as well.

The decisions were taken in the 2nd meeting of the PCB Management Committee which was held on 7 Jan 2022 at the National High Performance Centre. The Pakistan Women’s League has been renamed “The Women’s League.” It has been launched by the PCB as part of its strategy to continue investing in women’s cricket and to excel in it.

The former Chairman of PCB had taken the initiative of the Women’s League. When he was in charge of the PCB, it was decided that the women’s league would be played alongside the Pakistan Super League 8th edition in March 2023.

In the press release of October last year, it was stated that four city-based teams will compete for the biggest prize in Pakistan’s women’s domestic calendar. It will be a double-league format and comprising 12 local and 6 foreign players. After 12 matches, the top two teams will compete in the final. It will be played a day before the PSL 8 final.

Now the suspension of the Pakistan Junior League’s suspension has been approved by the new PCB Management Committee. However, it was agreed to revive in the country and foreign series to ensure that the country continues to produce talented cricketers. It will be beneficial for all ages and with this, the talented lot has access to a pathway of the main Pakistan National team.

To strengthen this emerging talent support concept, it was also agreed to include a player under the age of 19 in their Emerging Categories. For this, they will talk to the franchises of the HBL Pakistan Super League about this and make a way out.

In addition to this, the Management Committee held a healthy discussion regarding restructuring domestic cricket. Regarding the re-establishment of the Departmental, Regional and District Cricket Associations, they might be revived as per the PCB Constitution 2014.

A plan will now be prepared to officially include Regional and District Cricket Associations and Departments in the domestic cricket structure. It will include participation in the PCB Board of Governors.

The Committee confirmed that all contracts of players, which are in effect until August 2023, will be honored and fulfilled. Additionally, it agreed that the compositions of the twelve Committees and will be announced soon.

The twelve committees include the Domestic Restructuring Committee, Domestic Restoration Committee, Department Cricket Restoration Committee, NHPC Remodeling Committee, Restructuring of Women’s Cricket Committee, Cricket Infrastructure Committee, Audit Committee, Finance and Commercial Affairs Committee, Human Resource Committee, Legal Affairs Committee, National Selection Committees and Benevolent Fund Committee.

Melbourne Cricket Club wants to host a Ind vs Pak Match

After successfully organizing the dramatic T20 World Cup 2022, Melbourne Cricket Club is looking towards two arch-rivals of cricket. It is interested in organizing a test match between the two teams. Melbourne Cricket Ground is known all over the world for its beautiful ground and balanced pitch for both bowlers and batsmen.

The Victorian government and the Melbourne Cricket Ground has recently inquired about the possibility of hosting the high-profile Test match between Pakistan and India.

Melbourne Cricket Club CEO Stuart Fox has stated that he intends to host the Test match. He also stated that organizing the T20 World Cup match in October between these two teams was a huge success for the management of the ground. It was attended by over 90,000 spectators.

He told that he has also discussed this with Cricket Australia and the government as well. But yes, I know that it is extremely complicated in the midst of a very busy schedule. Therefore, I believe that to be the most difficult obstacle along with the consent of the two governments as well.

I hope CA will continue to raise the issue with the ICC and also will advocate for it. He was hopeful that it would be a full house match. The crowd will be celebrating the match and atmosphere with more joy as you see some of the stadiums around the world unoccupied. He was hopeful that Cricket Australia will take the suggestion to ICC and to the two teams for the said match.

India and Pakistan last played a match in 2007. After that, the two teams stopped playing bilateral series and confronted each other in one or the other ICC or Asian Cricket Council competitions.

Fox anticipates a full house in the Boxing Day Test between Pakistan and Australia at the MCG in 2023. It is a part of a three-match series in the upcoming World Test Championship cycle. Similar to the India-Pakistan T20 World Cup match, the teams are expected to play with zero vacant seats.

Fox stated that the India-Pakistan game was more than a match and has never seen anything like it at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The atmosphere is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. The families, children and everyone else was having a great time. The noise after each ball was incredible and the response to that was even more befitting.

It was also stated by him that the Pakistani community needs to be tapped into next year if we can be more inclusive and ensure that we cater to all cultures. We want them here and having a full house from the start would be fantastic.

For Upcoming two tests and three one-day internationals Pakistan will host New Zealand

https://propakistani.pk/2022/01/10/heres-pakistan-cricket-teams-complete-schedule-for-2022/

From December 26 to January 14, Pakistan will host New Zealand for two Test matches and three One-Day Internationals, with the majority of the games taking place in Karachi.

From December 26 to January 14, Pakistan will host New Zealand for two Test matches and three One-Day Internationals, with the majority of the games taking place in Karachi. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced an itinerary on Tuesday, indicating that the Test series will begin in Karachi on December 26 and move to Multan on January 3 for the second match. The ODIs are set for January 10, 12, and 14 at Karachi’s National Stadium.

Last year, New Zealand was scheduled to play an ODI and T20I series, but they were ordered by their authorities to return from Rawalpindi without playing any games because of an unidentified security danger to them.

Pakistan has previously hosted Australia this year, and after hosting England for a seven-match T20I series in October, they are currently hosting England for a Test series.

Due to security concerns of foreign teams following the militant attack on the Sri Lankan squad in Lahore in March 2009, Pakistan did not host any Test matches or international series between 2009 and 2019.

With both Boards’ approval, the series versus New Zealand has been moved up by one day.

In 2003, New Zealand last competed in a Test match in Pakistan.

Only at JioSaavn.com can you listen to the most recent music.

In April of the following year, New Zealand would visit Pakistan for a second mixed white-ball series.
