BETJEE Cricket News -Bangladesh tour to Zimbabwe
Bangladesh cricket team is now all set to launch their squad for bilateral series of 3 T20s and 3 ODIs against Zimbabwe. Both teams will play their 1st, 2nd and 3rd T20 matches on 30th July 2022, 01st August 2022 and 02nd August 2022 respectively. Whereas the ODI series will be played on the 5th, 7th and 10th of August 2022.
Both T2O and ODI matches are scheduled in the capital of Zimbabwe, Harare “Harare Sports Club” with a capacity of 10,000 people and surrounded by jacaranda trees and a beautiful pavilion. Harare Sports Club is in the heart of the city. HSC hosted Zimbabwe’s first Test in October 1992 and has been the country’s major Test and one-day venue till yet.
Bangladesh has recently finished its tour to West Indies. In the West Indies, the overall performance of the Bangladesh was average in Test Series and T20 format but the team took a boost in the ODI format by winning all three matches.
Background
Initially, the tour was scheduled for Test and ODI matches but later on the Test series was replaced by the T20.
The records show that Bangladesh is on the heavier side of the game, always in both T20 and ODI formats.
In T20 international out of 16 matches, Bangladesh won 11 and Zimbabwe 5 and in 78 ODI played the ratio is 50:28

One Day International
On recent records of 2021, Bangladesh is leading Zimbabwe in all three matches by labelling 3-0 on the scoreboard.
Regis Wiriranai Chakabva with 164 runs is the highest scorer and Luke Mafuwa Jongwe is the highest wicket-taker with 6 wickets from the Zimbabwe.
From Bangladesh, Litton Kumar Das with 155 runs and Shakib Al Hasan with 8 wickets are prominent. Shakib Al Hasan’s consistent performance marks him Player of the Series. But Shakib ul Hasan will not be part of this tour now for both ODIs and T20s. Tamim Iqbal will also be missing in T20s but the chances of playing ODIs are positive.
In 2021, Bangladesh becomes 3rd team after Pakistan and Australia to win their 100th match in all three formats of international cricket.
T20 International
In 2021, scores of T20 are again on side of the Bangla Tigers. Bangladesh won the 3-match series by 2-1.
Soumya Sarkar from Bangladesh was Player of the Series. Shorif ul Islam won the title of leading wicket-taker with 6 wickets.
Wesely Madhevere was the highest scorer with 150 runs from Zimbabwe.
