Rohit Sharma-led MI started this season with quite a low approach. With players like Rohit himself, Ishan Kishan, Mills, and Bumrah, it is hard to believe that they have won no matches yet. But right from the start bowlers are not performing that well. In the first match against Delhi Capitals in which a handsome target was given but MI and Ishan Kishan batted brilliantly, but the bowler could not defend 177 and Delhi won 1.4 overs remaining. 

Similarly in the next matches, against Rajhastan Royals, Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore, the performance could not get better enough to get a single game. In a recent match, they experimented with 2 overseas players only, but the result could not get change in their favor.

MCA stadium is generally a batting-friendly pitch and the history of MI in this stadium also does not favor them, as they lost two matches in this stadium and could not defend their total against opponents. So summarily the bowling attack of MI needs a lot of effort to look into and come up with a different strategy to get the first game in their favor.

Coming towards PBKS who have a good batting line till num 7 and they proved it in their first match against RCB, in which they chased the target of 205 with one over remaining. But in the next match, the same batting line flopped and was limited to 137 only which was chased by KKR. They won again with 180 against CSK and lost defending 189 against GT.

Summarily, as a whole, there is no doubt in the form of the batting line, yet bowlers are facing difficulty in this team as well to deliver a spar with the batters. This performance can be sufficient if the match is with MI, but to win the title and to place themselves in the final 4, they need to gear up as a team.

In the last five matches played against each other, 3 are won by MI and 1 by PBKS and 1 tied but this hardly matters when you are playing a fresh season with different forms of players.
