The 15th edition of IPL has started on 26 March 2022 after two years of being held in UAE due to COVID situations in the country. Four grounds are being used namely Wankhede Stadium, Brabourne Stadium, D.Y. Patil Stadium in Mumbai and MCA Stadium in Pune. A total of 74 matches including playoffs will be played in a lapse of two months in these stadiums so the pitches are destined to be slower as the league progresses. And after playing 10 matches by almost every team, we are witnessing this phenomenon on all playing grounds.

With a previous of 8 teams, two new teams are being added in this season i.e. Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans. This has added a sense of freshness in the tournament and we are enjoying the excellence of performance both the teams are showing us by beating almost every other team and has grabbed top two positions of the points table after playing 10 and 9 matches respectively. Who would have thought that these new comers will change the history of IPL in their debut tournament?

It is an Ahmadabad based team introduced in this season and the team has been sold for US $750 million to CVC Capital Partners. The key players it own are Hardik Pandya, Rashid Khan and Muhmmad Shami. Pandya as captain and Ashish Nehra was given the responsibility of head coach. The second new arrival of this tournament is LSG owned by RP Sanjiv Goenka Group. It was sold for an amount of US$ 940 million. The owner had and experience of owing a team in 2016 and 2017.
